Combine natural medicine with IVF to improve outcomes

IVF – Testimony To A Combined Approach

IVF outcomes can be improved with a combined approach.

For reasons sometimes unknown, women don’t always get pregnant naturally. There is some recent research showing that women have increased chances of having a baby using IVF, when they have used what the study called a “whole systems” Traditional Chinese Medicine approach (TCM) prior to doing IVF. Following is a testimonial from a patient who did this. Throughout her treatment with me she had noticeable hormonal cycle and health changes. The recent study suggests IVF outcomes are improved by optimising the health and hormone status of the body using a TCM approach prior to starting IVF. It makes sense don’t you think?

“As a healthy, young 33-year-old woman with no apparent fertility problems I assumed I would get pregnant naturally and very quickly. But when it didn’t happen, I decided to try acupuncture and Chinese medicine to help improve my chances to conceive. I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have made throughout my entire journey to conceive. I have tried so many different natural therapies to help me get pregnant, but no other therapist or therapy has ever helped me as much as Suzanne and acupuncture did. I saw her every week for over a year and her constant support, compassion and endless knowledge about fertility and Chinese medicine helped me through what was a very difficult time for me. There were so many benefits in doing acupuncture. I learned a raft of tools to help me cope with infertility and also practical steps that helped me feel more in control of the situation such as understanding my body’s fertile signs, tracking my temperature with charts to pinpoint ovulation, how to improve my nutrition to be as healthy as possible and meditation, which helped me cope with the stress and anxiety of the endless cycle of hope and disappointment each month.. Each week my sessions with Suzanne were a little sanctuary away from the world where I could relax, unload my concerns and fears and talk to someone I felt really understood what I was going through, before she would work her magic to strengthen my body depending on what was going on with me that particular week. Eventually I went through IVF treatment and Suzanne bent over backwards to support me during the procedure and made herself available for additional appointments that I needed to help boost our chances of a successful transfer and conception. She was one of the first people I wanted to tell I was pregnant when I got the amazing news that we were lucky enough to have conceived. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her to anyone considering acupuncture and Chinese medicine. For me personally, she was an absolute life-saver!”

The flambée is just for show but I might experiment with that for fun - one day 🔥😀

Where can I get calcium from if I don’t eat dair Where can I get calcium from if I don’t eat dairy products?

Calcium can be found in many food sources other than dairy, and may in fact be better absorbed in non dairy forms.

Regardless of whether you eat dairy products or not, variety is key when it comes to nutrition in general. A varied diet will help you achieve the broad range of micronutrients required for optimal physiological function. Focusing on one food source for a certain nutrient is generally not ideal.

Conference time in Wellington 🌻Just completed a Conference time in Wellington 🌻Just completed a great couple of days reconnecting with colleagues, sharing knowledge, talking ‘shop’ and feeling the pull towards unity as we step our into a new phase as a regulated health profession in New Zealand. These are exciting times for us and with continuing strong leadership, work and focus it sounds like we all have much to look forward too.

Kudos to our current Acupuncture New Zealand leadership for getting this across the line with our NZ government and to those who came before who laid the foundations. It was great to finally be able to celebrate this win for acupuncture & traditional Chinese medicine in New Zealand 🥂

Bundling up and getting outside regularly to get some sun on your face can help give it little boosts. Vitamin D levels influence hormones, immunity, bone health and more… In addition, getting out into nature brings all sorts of benefits to the body, mind and spirit. Add in some good company and a cosy cafe warm up en route, you have a great all round tonic for every part of your being 🌻
